This case study focuses on a street-front science exhibition in central London at the new Sainsbury Wellcome Centre for Neural Circuits and Behaviour. The exhibition subject was visual perception and cognitive function, involving “light” interactives with passersby. We will look at the range of possibilities explored and why they were rejected. Then we will look at the limitations, freedoms and emerging rules of thumb in designing and implementing exhibitions outside of the museum.
