When museums talk about “meeting people where they are,” we are usually referring to a person’s life experience or readiness to learn. But what about physically meeting them where they are: at the door, in the galleries or on the street? Staff from MoMA, Brooklyn Museum and Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History discuss the value of experimental interventions and pop-up programs that meet people where they are to engage in conversation and ephemeral participatory learning experiences.
