This session explores the different ways college students can contribute to a museum as volunteers and interns. What unique qualities do college students bring? What are the different types of volunteer/intern roles that work best for them? What are the challenges in engaging college students? How can they contribute directly to fulfilling your mission? Presenters, including college students, will share their ideas and experience to get a conversation started with you. Those hoping to recruit college aged volunteers or considering initiating an internship program will have the opportunity to learn the “hows” and “whys” of engaging this age group in museums of all kinds and sizes.
